Welcome to DiabetesSucks.org, NeuropathySucks.com, and ADHDSucks.com

Hi! My name is Jack. I was diagnosed with diabetes on or about July 14th 2005. And high blood pressure and high cholesterol. i.e. metabolic syndrome. I guess one could say, "I'm metabolically challenged." At 51, all I could say was, "Man! If I had known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself."

Diabetes really does suck, and the longer you've had it, the more it sucks. What really sucks is if you've had something (pre-diabetes maybe) for a fairly long time, ignored the symptoms, and finally screw up enough courage to go visit the doctor, and then get the bad news. Then things go from bad to worse. Like Neuropathy. That really sucks.

And now ... It looks like I've got ADHD too!!! Not that it's something I did to develop this affliction as well, but coupled with my diabetes story above, it really sucks. Actually, I think the ADHD is actually what drove me to the lifestyle that caused my body to develop diabetes. The ADHD is something I've had since day one. :-(

Anyhow, I'll figure out something to put here. Maybe say something about my frustrations with this malady and the very messed up Medical Establishment.

For-what-it's-worth, and for the time being, I have set this up as a sort of blog using an off-the-shelf Wiki, but restricted. Of course a real wiki is usually open and allows folks to register as users and add their own content. But something like that needs to be monitored and I don't have a lot of time for monitoring right now. We'll see as time goes along. An off-the-shelf wiki package makes this very easy to add and manage content for myself.

Here are some links that I want to save here for now but will be moved to a page dedicated to relevant diabetes sites:
